American Idol ... Sorry to say

Disappointed

I'm a bit of disappointed with American Idol of this week. Last week I so excited when the host said that next week the contestants wiil be sang Love Songs with Andrea Bocelli. I like Andrea Bocelli's songs. Suddently, I predict that Chris 'the rock' will be in trouble caused Andrea's songs is really really dissonant with his voice. And in my prediction, he and Paris will be in the two of bottom of this week.

But....they do not sang Andrea's songs. Andrea Bocelli and David Foster just a mentor of this week. But it's OK. Even so, I still hear his songs 'Because We Believe' perform by himself. That beautiful song taken from his lastest album entitled 'Amore'.

The best performance by Chris with 'Have You Ever Really Love A Woman'. The worst performance by Paris. That the worst songs I ever heard in AI 5...Sorry to say, Paris...! Kelly Pickler was better than Paris, in my oppinions.

Next Week

Next week, I don't know what the theme is, but no doubt it Paris will be come home...Again, Sorry to say, Lucky Girl...!

Soe Hok Gie dilahirkan tanggal 17 Desember 1942. Sejak kecil telah menunjukkan sifat-sifat setia kawan, cerdas, suka membaca, gemar mendaki gunung dan tidak membiarkan ketidakadilan terjadi di depan matanya.




Pemikiranya dituangkan dalam buku harian. Semasa menjadi mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia, Gie tumbuh menjadi pribadi yang cerdas dan idealis. Kegalauannya dituangkan dalam artikel-artikel yang tajam di media massa.



Kita seolah-olah merayakan Demokrasi. Tetapi memotong lidah orang-orang yang berani menyatakan pendapat mereka yang merugikan pemerintah.Mereka harus berani menyatakan Benar sebagai Kebenaran dan Salah sebagai Kesalahan.



Sejarah dunia adalah sejarah pemerasan. Apakah tanpa pemerasan, sejarah tidak ada ? Apakah tanpa kesedihan, tanpa pengkhianatan, sejarah tidak akan lahir ?





Kita punya Bapak (Soekarno) yang kita akui sebagai Founding Father di negeri ini. Tapi tidak berarti dia mempunyai kekuasaan absolut untuk menentukan hidup kita, nasib kita.



Soe Hok Gie meninggal di puncak Gunung Semeru (Desember 1969) dipangkuan sahabatnya, Herman Lantang. Catatan hariannya diterbitkan pertama kali di tahun 1983.



Harapan Soe Hok Gie tentang pemerintahan Indonesia yang bersih dari korupsi dan tidak berpihak pada golongan, ras atau agama tertentu belum terwujud.

Sunday Afternoon

In Sunday afternoon I went to musics store, searching the album of Trio Libels. My Malaysian friend ask me for their songs. I love that songs too. In New Kids On The Block era, about 90s, Trio Libels was very popular here. Unfortunatelly, that old songs was not available anymore. Sorry, friend. Maybe next time if I found it, I will send it to you.

Immadiatelly I saw Michael Jackson (MJ) album when he was solo singer at very young age and the VCD of GIE.

MJ's song such as 'One Day In Your Life', 'Ben', 'Rockin Robin', 'My Girl'. Love that songs very much.

The Best Picture winner of Festival Film Indonesia 2005, GIE, was interesting to watch. Nicolas Saputra won Best Actor for his acting as Soe Hok Gie, the main actor in that movie. GIE is my first Indonesian movies that I watch. The movies is great. If you want to watch something like "out of mainstream movies", GIE is my recomendations. Soe Hok Gie (1942-1969) is an activist in the most dark era of Indonesia (1960s).

Jazzy Nite

Java Jazz Festival 2006

I watch local station, MetroTV, with their show, Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2006 featuring Incognito. Six years ago, Incognito was being my first Jazz band. I collect their album(cassete) but unfortunatelly all of them was broken. Incognito's played Acid Jazz with soul and funk. The song titled 'Still A Friend Of Mine' was good and my most favourite Acid Jazz's songs.

I always wondered : When will I go to watch Jazz Festival ? (Mimpi kali yeeee...)


American Idol 5

Yeah, in the middle of the nite, American Idol season 5 on RCTI. Love this theme of this week, The American Song Book Editions. Also for the great guest star, Rod Steward. He has Jazz standard album called The Great American Song Book Volume I, II, III and IV. That's why Mr. Steward to be guest star of the show I guess. I have his album for volume IV. Nice to listen Mr. Rod with Jazz standard. A bit of surprise with the bottom three of this week. Chris and Paris was good that nite.

It's gonna be hard week for Chris I think. He must sang Jazz standard song, What A Wonderful World, with his rock style. Not bad, Chris! The Minie Mouse's voice, Paris, was fantastic. She sang 'These Foolish Things' and grant with compliment from the judges. Like Simon Cowell said, she sang so mature even she was 17 years old. Well done, Paris! The American vote for Ace Young was correct in my oppinion. He sang 'You Send Me' as so so as well. Bye, Ace!

The most fantastic performance by Katharine McPhee with 'Someone To Watch Over Me'. Dammn, she's hot. The right song's choice. She will be a star somedays.
